    blocklist.de footprint

Anyone find a footprint to find blocklist.de contributors? I'm killing myself going through linklists trying to maybe find something.

I understand not wanting to share in public so they don't know what we know, but if you're willing to share via PM that would be great.

Is there a footprint? I think the magic happens server side.

I know the reporting comes from reading server access logs, but they say that the form says that if you submit it you'll get reported for spamming. So there must be some sort of footprint that can be found.

I did a short run for 15 minutes, got 9 reports on my IP on their site. Now I have about 6000 URLs to go through to find which ones generated those reports If I find something I'll report back.

Bad news to report. I was able to identify a site with 100% certainty. There is absolutely nothing in the source that can identify the site. It's phpBB and it uses the default "yourdomain.com", "A short text to describe your forum", "YOUR FIRST CATEGORY", "Your first forum", and "Description of your first forum.", which might work for a footprint.

If anyone else wants to do some testing

    Code:
    http://beta.purifying.info/index.php

Another update... This will make more sense after my last post gets through moderation.

That same domain has many subdomains, it looks like all of the greek letters. alpha, beta, theta, etc. with a ton of different domains 301ing in to them. They are all showing as coming from "saturn" on the blocklist report. So an easy way to not worry about posting to many of these sites would just be updating the hosts file to point all of those subdomains to 127.0.0.1.

Good news. I did a links database analysis searching the content for "yourdomain.com" on my repeat confirmed good list. Took a couple hours going through the results and cleaned out all of the ones that just had the default info and the one forum. I've now posted to about 9k URLs and it hasn't generated a single regbot complaint. Looks like an easy process to filter new lists now.

    Hello.

There is no yourdomain.com at beta.purifying.info... seems the owner has changed it. Thank you for your work - i have excluded the domain from all my projects.

My tests have shown that most of the blacklists are not using automatic "traps" to catch the bad spammers out there. Its more of a reporting fucntionality that happens via the admin interface by the admin himself.

Like a "Submit IP/EMAIL/POST to stopforuspam or blocklist.de etc" option available to admins via their admin interface.

I had my first experience with blocklist.de this morning, while trying to explain to my server provider what Xrumer is.

Mistakenly running through a raw list with the username of Xrumertest and email of [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] without proxies will cause plenty of problems:P
