Thread: Social Signals = 2013?

Im already looking forward to a new year and planning around it, has anyone had any experience using social signals as part of their link building stratergy?

im ranking #31 for a top keyterm with less than 100 backlinks and only using social signals, Facebook, G+, Pinterest, Youtube.

am i mad or is someone else seeing some good in this?

Social presence is highly regarded and liked by Google and it is used as a site ranking factor. I generally find it easier to rank a site that has Twitter, Youtube or Facebook links to it. Especially after the Panda etc. updates Social presence is becoming a standard for sites that want to rank.

like i suspected, any tools or services i can use to increase a few sites social media presence?

Generally I write my own scripts that do the web 2 creation. There are some bots out there that will autotweet or autopost on facebook but frankly I dont use then so I cant vouch for any, maybe someone else can provide more insight into this.

only drawback is it must be the real signed up fb not an added page( just make fully new accounts for each)

Im looking for something a bit more, blackhat, what i've done is a type of click jacking where if a user clicks anywhere on any of my sites it likes the website via facebook, however i need a larger amount of people and these websites are in a smaller niche.

i will do some research and see what i can come up with.

You can use services like "youlikehits" or other websites like this one (there are a lot of them) to have easily +1, FB likes, tweets, etc.

I tried on a website for a niche with low competition and it helped a lot. I don't know if it is so helpfull for competitive keywords, but for sure, it will not harm your site, so let's try ;-)

Buy it on Fiverr. But truth be told I've tested by using only social signals and it not help rankings at all. SEO however still works great.

I have shares and likes enabled on my site but I don't find they bring in any traffic or help with rankings.

i done youlikehits and others, the problem is that most of the time the users are either:
1.) fake
2.) "unlikes" again
3.) Facebook knows the likes are being generated and flags them, and if they can do it im sure G knows.
