Thread: Installing Xrumer on a Linux box

Seeing all these supposed blackhats on forums , who are crying because they cant get xrumer working on their linux box. It drives me crazy.

Install wine (Open Source Software for running Windows applications on other operating systems) on your box . Then install your xrumer on your linux box.

Its that simple .

If you cant get it working still , You will have to use windows in some kind of vm software (vmware/xen/virtualbox/) .

i prefer vbox, wine gives me some issues
vbox works fine though...

i never tried , but i have read vbox works better.

imo if you use linux just use a VM for most tools anyway, although before I used a VPS xrumer worked fine through wine without any messing about.

some time ago I run it on an ubuntu installation with virtualbox. really easy to install, but you have to have a powerful machine with lots of memory. otherwise you loose too much performance by running 2 operating systems.

I realize I am necroing an old thread, but how well do xRumer and hRefer run under Wine these days ? Has anyone had any recent experiences with them under Linux ?

@Dellius: Haven't actually tested Wine in a while . Main reason is that Vmware or Virtualbox are good for Xrumer on Linux or any Windows apps for that matter.
As long though as you have a decent multicore or multithread CPU and enough RAM to spare for a virtual machine, you should be good running any windows OS and programs like Xrumer/Hrefer etc via virtualization in Linux
