    Best value hosting for XRumer?

    Hey Guys!

So I'm looking into purchasing some hosting that will be able to run XRumer efficiently, there seems to be a few different opinions out there and couple different providers making things a little confusing.

My budget is relatively tight so I'm looking for the cheapest solution that will allow me to run XRumer at an effective level, basically the best bang for my buck.

It seems the most important questions that need to be addressed are:

    1. What are the minimum server specs to run XRumer at a reliable and effective level?

    2. VPS or Dedicated and how large would the performance difference be?

    3. Which hosting provider has the best value / reliability / performance?
(The two hosts that seem to be talked about more are Spamahost and XSServers.eu)

From my personal experience, Xsserver.eu is the better of those two, both in terms of price and in terms of speed. Support is ok they are off for the night in Europe and off during the weekends. Beside that shortcoming, they are good. We are not affiliated with them in any way and if any user has a better recommendation please feel free to share your findings. By the way, I am also talking about Dedicated servers here.

If you are serious about xrumer, dedicated is the way to go. VPS is a virtual box, essentially you get a chunk of a powerful server that has been split into pieces by special software, each piece claiming to be a server on its own. The only thing you get though is 1/10th of the cpu/ram/disk/network speed for the 1/10th of the price of a normal server. A VPS is good for testing and playing with software without carrying much about performance.

If you need on the other hand to work seriously with xrumer, Dedicated server is the way to go. With 4 GB of RAM and anything above a dual core (4 threads) you are good to go. From up there, adding more memory will not help much in xrumer terms, but adding more cpu power will help in the speed of xrumer, having also in mind that the new xrumer is very cpu hungry because of recaptcha cracking. And ofcourse, about bandwith, your xrumer running at full speed will eat from 10 to 50 mbits per second, have seen as much as 65mbits but that on very powerful server that could handle the traffic.

Hope that clears some things up for you.

Another option is buying your own server , In terms of value its going to pay off long term .

I bought my server for 1500$ about 18 months ago .

18 months server access at 35$ a month is 630$ total .(just for a vps)

Having the option to do this depends on other factors tho , bandwidth etc.
I have a really good provider for broadband , Obviously this will change depending on the country you live in .

While that might be a good idea, unfortunately most of the users pay the bandwith at a very high price. Its not just having a decent provider, the provider also should allow for our kind of traffic, and most providers dont take kindly to the kind of traffic our boxes generate. But if you can get a decent provider to provide you with more than 15mbits (real speed) on a box of your own, yeah owning such a server is the way to go!

    Thanks for the responses!

As much as I'd love to purchase my own server, that's not much of an option in Canada which is where I live. Where do I start, bandwidth prices? The type of traffic? None of this would be allowed, and the bandwidth would be far too expensive.

I'll most likely be looking at one of the servers from XSServers.eu.

Right now I'm looking at German servers DE-EDS1 @ 65GBP or DE-EDS2 @ 75GBP. The specs are pretty close, with the difference being Bandwidth, Ram and harddrive (which I think is neglibible).

    DE-EDS1

    Intel Core I3 530 2X2.93 GHZ
    Dual Core
    500 GB Hard Drive
    2 GB DDR3 RAM
    5000 GB Monthly Transfer
    100mbit Uplink
    2 IPs

    €65 / month

    DE-EDS2

    Intel Core I3 530 2X2.93 GHZ
    Dual Core
    2X500 GB Hard Drive
    4 GB DDR3 RAM
    2000 GB Monthly Transfer
    100mbit Uplink
    2 IPs

    €75 / month

The second server looks good, but 2000GB transfer seems a bit on the low end, so I'm actually thinking about getting the first server which has 5000GB transfer and upgrading the RAM with an additional 2GB for €10. This way I'd be paying €75 / month which is the same as server 2, I'd have 5000GB instead of 2000GB transfer, and the only other different would be harddrive space, which seems like 500GB would suffice.. and if not I could always add 500GB HDD for an additional €5.

Also, do these guys care about complaints or do they just ignore them like spamahost?

I have 3 of the DE-EDS1 , they are very good servers.
I used to think we got a tough deal on broadband in the uk . Altho it turns out the only places with better are the usa and japan . Its mainly due to infrastructure . I have a friend who moved to Australia and he is really struggling with the rubbish broadband packages they have over there .
I have an unlimited 50mbps connection and it costs ?35 a month from virgin broadband .

All complaints are ignored by XSServers.eu. thats what "bulletproof" means .

Also its very hard to use the 2TB monthly limit .

Did you upgrade the RAM to 4GB or stick with the 2GB? If 2GB, how many links/min are you getting and I wonder what the difference compared to 4GB would be?

    Thanks!

Never upgraded the ram , Altho I might do now

Links/min really depends on the list I find , but on average I do 150 Links/min

It really takes some top end hardware to reach those 600-700 Links/min .

For the cost of these servers I preffer to split the load over many cheaper ones .

Interesting. I'm not speaking from experience obviously, but here are a few posts I found at another forum in a thread about spamahosts servers. I know there is a price differential there, but the server specs aren't THAT different really.

Here's an independent user: $250 server, running 1020links/min after 20 minutes
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

Here's one djeuro took of their C2Q: (running 3027links/min)
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Here's a user review: (complete beginner getting 600-700 links/min)
[Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

So once again, I'm not at all trying to say spamahost is better, even in the slightest as I have no experience with either host. However I found it interesting that you said 150/min since that sounds like a fairly low number to me compared to what I've heard from spamahost users. Again, I want to mention that I haven't spoken to many xsservers.eu users so I'm not familiar with their average speeds.

Please chime in if you have a minute, I'm interested to hear why you think there's this kind of a difference.

    Thanks!

Well links per minute is more like a competition on who has the bigger gun. In my experience, the normal customers of spamahost dont see those speeds in their lifetime. It has to do with the network you are one and the list you use and a shitload of other factors. If speed is a big concern, spend money to get the top box one can offer. One of my clients in xsserver.eu has 2000 links per minute, he has bought the top server though. Might get him to post a screenshot. Me? I dont push my servers but normally I get around 400-500 links per minute at 250 threads and on the 4gb 75 euro one. For me, xsserver all the way. For others is spamahost. Its not like there are winners and loosers, its just people that dont know what to do with xrumer and start counting links per minute like that is going to save them. Sure , you might get in either company 1M links per minute. And then what? How does that affect your success rate? what do yo udo with those numbers?
