    Smile Directory submission mod

    Hey,

I haven't ever contributed anything here, so I figured I would throw this out there..

It's a mod to submit your site to directories. I'm sure a lot of the senior members already have their own, but I figured I would share what I've been using and someone who knows better can offer some insight for improvement

    Mod needs:
Make a copy of the Default folder in the LogicFiles folder. Save the copy and use it as the original files you can revert back to after you're done submitting to directories. In the other Default folder (the one that xrumer will be using while posting), copy/paste the files I've attached to this thread.

    How to configure your profile:
You'll only really need to use a few fields so you can use the auto-fill function to start.
After the auto-fill fills out all the textfields you'll need to edit the following with the info you want to use for your site:

Real Name - Spin some common names
Homepage - Your site(s) URL(s) you want to submit to the directory
Email - Fill this out with a valid email so you can receive confirmation mails
Topic - Will be the title of your directory submissions (you want this to be the keyword)
Explanation - Fill this in with keywords separated by commas
Message - Spin some short descriptions of your site

    xas.txt Configuration
You'll need to change the following field to whatever the niche is for the site you are submitting (it's the category you want your site to appear in within the directory):
    #CATEGORY_ID;c;cmb_category

If I forgot anything let me know and I can explain...

NOTE: It's buggy. I know that it's getting false positives; it keeps saying success what it submits to a paid directory (I don't have it paying anything) so it can't possibly be submitted successfully. Like I mentioned earlier, I am definitely open to suggestions on how to improve this

Let me know if this is helpful or if I'm way off...

Great contribution to the community beerseo!
Can you please share some more info on the mod, such as what kind of directories does it post to, what xrumer options to use working with it or what kind of Hrefer footprints to use for scrapping target directories?
That way the mod will be more complete and people can test it and provide more feedback.

For sure...should have done that in the first place

The above xrumer mod is designed to submit to basically any link directory, I'm not sure about the rules on posting to external websites so I will refrain from doing so. Basically all phpLinkDirectory sites. Believe it or not, directory links, I think, are worth acquiring. Depending on the SEO value of the directory, you could get some decent one-way optimized links out of the deal so I figured it'd be a good idea to get xrumer to do this.

    xrumer Settings
    Tools->Speed <-----> Success Rate
    xrumer-speed-success.jpg

    Tools->Advanced Options
    xrumer-advanced-options.jpg
That's what my Advanced Options were the last blast...I found it submits pretty much no matter which options you choose in here so play around with it.

    hrefer
I have attached 2 more files to this message; they are the logic files for hrefer I use to scrape the proper directories to submit to.

Simply add these files into the Templates folder of hrefer.

You'll have to make your own Words file, I keep mine general so it picks up as many as possible. I don't use proxies because I don't have to but if you want to, depending on where the proxies are, you may or may not get better success.

Again, I am always open to suggestions for improvement!

    bump....

Sorry, I had to bump it again because I want this thing to run properly! Has anyone played around with it yet? I am willing to share my list of directories if someone is willing to lend their expertise in making this mod fully functional!

Ok, so I didn't run it against my list because I knew right off the start it wouldn't work well and the reporting would be way inaccurate.

    Three main reason....
1.) phpLinkDirectory uses LINK_TYPE = normal for most of the free non-reciprocal linking options.
    Code:
    #LINK_TYPE;free;1;normal;2
    1

    should really look like
    :

    #LINK_TYPE
    normal
2.) Xrumer wont fill in the "CATEGORY_ID" field by using the Xas on phpLinkDirectory 4.0 but it will on previous versions. This 4.0 version makes you choose the category through a link, then through a popup that uses javascript. Most of the high pr directories are on this latest version. For older versions:
    Code:
    #CATEGORY_ID;c;cmb_category
    Technology
    General
    Blogs

    should really look more like
    :

    #CATEGORY_ID
    RANDOM[3..12
3.) This is where it gets more complicated. Due to #2's "CATEGORY_ID" problem with phpLinkDirectory 4.0 the way your going about xurl won't work. The only way I could get it to work is by using the Posting process instead of the Registration process.

In a nutshell, I told Xrumer to:
    Register if possible >
Navigate to the front directory page (TOFORUM) >
    find the categories (TOVIEW) >
use the projects priority categories to tell Xrumer which categories are ok to post in >
Xrumer goes to the topic/category, THEN you have it look for the submit.php?c= or ?id= (TONEWPOST).

This results in Xrumer filling the category in each time. When Xrumer navigates to a category, the directory appends that category id to the 'Submit a Link' button. If the CATEGORY_ID is a Select/drop down, Xrumer will just use RANDOM[3..12] for the id... if it's the link on the 4.0 version though Xrumer- craps out, doesn't touch the CATEGORY_ID but since it was appended in the Submit a Link button, it remains in the hidden field for the forms submission and whalla.

The reporting has a lot to do with xmessages.
Instead of the Link submitted.;Link submitted and awaiting approval. under REGISTERED- that should be under SUCCESS if you mod it to use the Posting Process.

To filter out the Paid links and Errors, your going to need something like the following under PROBLEM:
    "errForm">Please select a category.;name="submit" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/x-click-but01.gif";class="label">Quantity;title is not unique in the parent category.;domain already exists in the;? link payment;<h3>Link Payment</h3>;could not be found at the specified url;An error occured while saving the link.;

That should cover most anything that's not free and some of the errors I've came across. Any of those go to "Part Succ."... but only if you use the Posting Process outlined in #3 for your xurl.

I also have my "Create topic / reply in existing one" checked in Advanced Options for that method to work correctly.
