Realistic links per minute on a dual core 2Ghz dedi, 4gb ram, 50mbit upload/100mbt DL

    Hi There
I am an xrummer newb, and I bought a dedicated server that is a dual core 2ghz, with 4GB ram on a 100mbit connection (max upload speed onspeed test i got was 57mbit, download 113mbit) server is running windows vista 2008 with tcp/ip limit removed..

I have been playing around with the multithreading settings and i can't seem to go beyond 500 links per minute, even though ive been hearing people here getting like crazy speeds of 1000-2500 links per minute, etc.

What should I expect a realistic number of links per minute to be on my dedicated server config?

    Thanks

Even 500 is a great number for your server. And for any server for what matters. One question though, windows Vista? WTF man?

Almost always the bottleneck is the isp..most of us don't have anything near that fast. On a 20 megabit cable line on a quad core was hitting 400 links/min. As a computer repair shop owner I have the luxury to test xrumer on many platforms, and configs. You May be able to squeeze a few extra links/min by moving to a quad core, but your near the limit. More memory WONT help. Kensai is correct Vista sucks... I would use Xp or 7. 500 links a min is still an awesome number!

Also it depends on xrumer options. Registering only or posting on behalf or registering and posting.
I have laptop with Intel i5 2.3Ghz and with 4Gb RAM and only 2 mbps down and 512kbps up. I can get 60 lpm (Links per minute) in registration mode. on behalf registered it's go down to to around 40 lpm and if it runs in posting+register then it's around 30 lpm. So how you can see there is big difference.

It takes only 10% from my CPU spead. But i'm looking forward to move house where i can get 200 Mbps down and 100 Mbps up and then i decided to take Intel i7 with 8 GB RAM and i believe i'll run xrumer with min. 2000 lpm.

Its a really difficult thing to measure in Links / min .You have to take into account the list your running , as this has a massive affect on your stats If you list is of poor quality you can easy do 1000 Links / min .I have one list set aside for test's I run on all my systems but even then I fear the results dont really reflect how much better the system is. You have to take into account factor's such as burst speed , average stable speed and even give thought to parts of your list that are going to process faster than others parts , I gave up on this thinking along time ago , Now my server just goes as fast as it goes lol.
