Hi and welcome to the best Xrumer forum. What tools do you use and what niches are you in?

    Hey Dupree,

Nice to see an old time SEOer that have been through Dot-Com boom and bust!

I wish I was involved with internet marketing back then too before the bubble bust.

Maybe you can share some stories about it...

Actually XRumer is the first tool I have ever purchased. Back when I used to do this everything was custom coded.

As far as niches, I haven't decided yet. I figure I will look at the anchor text that is being pushed hard by others, see what is rankable, and go from there.

I think he was asking more about what was your niche back in the day, not now. As for the present day, things have become a lot tougher with the latest Google updates and all.

But tools like Xrumer provide a huge plus to your arsenal of tools to conquer the ranks, automating a lot of the grunt work and keep in mind that it can be moded also, which opens the door to endless possibilities if you have the time and patience to learn how it works.

Its all about the strategy you have though in the end and all tools are as good as your plan and level of persistence.

In the early days, most of the affiliate programs pay per click. I signed up for a lot of programs and the vices were the ones where I made the most (adult, gambling, tobacco).

I think SEO always comes down to 3 main parts:

    1. Research - what is working now? You really have to dig in here to discover all the details of what is currently working. A lot of them are subtle.

    2. Experiment - even with the best research there will still be some areas that you can't pinpoint the exact method. Here it is important to try everything you can think of.

    3. Tools - back in the day we custom coded everything, but now it seems like you can get pretty far with just off the shelf tools. Still the best tool is your mind and you should apply it heavily in parts 1 and 2.
